CHALLENGE 14 END OF THE DECADE
Best Disney Films of the Decade

[info]picspammy's fourteenth challenge is to picspam something dealing with the first decade of the twenty-first century seeing as it's quickly coming to an end. I decided to picspam the best Disney films since 2000. Disney is such an important part of my life and has definitely made an impact on me that will never leave me. No matter how old I get, my heart will always belong to Disney. While nothing will ever be able to compare to their classics, these past ten years have given us some wonderfully memorable and amazing Disney films.

I. The Princess and the Frog )

SO MANY FILMS TO SEE. Sis and I are going to see Avatar on Thursday and I am so pumped! But there are so many films I need to see and so many that weren't even released near me which means I've missed so many as well. MUST REMEDY ALL THIS SOMEHOW.

II. CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER AHOY!

Conan O'Brien came into the Library today while I was volunteering and I got to speak with him a little bit. He was nice though very quiet. And he's really tall - he completely towered over me! His kids were adorable if a little all over the place. We had to tell them not to take the toys from the Toys for Tots bin. xD But it was totally awesome.

I was going to get my hair done today but the place closed at 4 and I got there at 3:45. I thought it would have closed at 6 or something. Oh well. I plan on going tomorrow morning so expect pictures again!

Catch you later, calculators.

I saw a stage production of A Christmas Carol today. I love Dickens, I will always love A Christmas Carol. Even if they don't do smoking tricks in it.

TNT has acquired the off-network rights for Supernatural and will be airing the episodes in order weekdays at 10 AM, starting with the pilot on Monday, January 4. There will also be a 10 hr marathon on Monday, February 15 starting at 9 AM.

If you like horror/fantasy/scifi/suspense/action; memorable, well-played, multidimensional characters; classic rock; America; and a great storyline (and I know you do), you'll like Supernatural.

The series is about two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (left to right in my icon), who are trained by their father to hunt all the things that go bump in the night after their mom is killed by a particularly nasty supernatural creature in Sam's nursery. Sam, resentful of their fringe lifestyle and his father's militaristic command, eventually breaks away from the family business and goes to college. Years later, when Sam's settled comfortably with a pretty girlfriend and looking forward to a potential full-ride at Stanford's prestigious law school, Dean shows up and asks for Sam's help finding their dad who's gone incognito. As the boys road trip across the states seeking their missing father, they encounter and fight various urban legends, monsters, and ghosts and are steadily drawn ever closer to their ultimate destiny as the mystery surrounding their mother's death unravels.

Watch it, bbs, you'll love it.

The Princess and the Frog was awesome! I loved it, cute and dramatic and gorgeously animated with a beautiful score and even greater musical numbers! I liked all the characters too, especially the villain, Dr. Facilier.

Actually, the villain and his "friends on the other side" reminded me a lot of Supernatural. Particularly of one episode, "Shadow," where a character is controlling a pair of ancient demons called Daevas who are only shown as shadows and turn on their master when the black altar she's using to control them is destroyed. That episode and the demonic deals cut in Supernatural in general were similar to Dr. Facilier's situation.

So, go see the movie! Show Disney how much we love traditional animation and encourage them via money to make more animated films!

Death of military personnel: my comics specialty. Anyway, I like Montcalm. He wasn't, I don't think, as talented as his young rival James Wolfe, but he was among the best they had and a well experienced, hard working man who did his job as best he could. Montcalm had a hot temper and didn't like Quebec, but he tried to save it, even though he was almost always at heads with Vaudreuil the Canadian born Governor- to whom he was supposed to defer. Vaudreuil was experienced in North America and cared passionately for Quebec, but had never really encountered modern European warfare, and didn't understand it. Montcalm hated the corruption in New France, thought the war was useless, and tried to leave but wasn't allowed. In his final letter to his wife he writes, "I think I should have given up all my honors to be back with you, but the king must be obeyed; the moment when I shall see you again will be the finest of my life. Good-bye my heart, I believe I love you more than ever." I like Montcalm.

Wolfe, of course got the most famous painting in this country's history done up for him some years after the Plains of Abraham. Montcalm got one eventually. It's ok.

You remember my younger self, right? It's been a while. The younger self comics aren't around much because they're so uh, different. They're odd, I write them as I go.

I spent two days working on a comic that I ended up not liking. Maybe I will fix it later and post it sometime, it happens! Expect another update soon. But for now, not wanting to wait any more days to update, I just made a comic about frustration. Poor little self, I don't always treat her well! And I felt so bad about the broken telescope, I kept it until I was in university.

I still like advent calendars, though.

My mom's car doors were frozen shut this morning. There's frost on our outdoor table. Our chiterrier refuses to leave the house to go to the bathroom outside. I am confuzzled. Last I checked, I lived in SoCal.
